Reichard Working to Assist Those Affected by Recent Storm
July 30, 2026
HARRISBURG - A storm on Tuesday wreaked havoc, dumping more than 4 inches of rain on the Waynesboro/Washington Township area, causing damage to roads and property. Since then, Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin) has toured the area to see the damages and has been working with local and state officials to support residents to get their lives back on track.
As state representative, Reichard has been working to link local government officials with state agencies, such as Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), to hasten assistance to affected residents.
“My number one goal is to get assistance to those who need it quickly, efficiently and effectively,” Reichard said. “Local officials have been working non-stop to aid residents, and state officials were quick to respond in our time of need. I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work.”
Impacted residents are encouraged to photograph and document all damage, and work with their insurance companies. Residents of Waynesboro can email floodingreports@waynesboropa.gov to report damages so the borough can coordinate with PEMA and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Damages can also be reported to the Franklin County Emergency Management coordinator at 717-264-2813.
State and local officials are also out assessing damages. Residents can also call Reichard’s office at 717-749-7384 and he and his staff will help direct them to the appropriate entity for assistance.
Reichard discussed the damage and ways in which residents are being assisted on his recent podcast, which can be found here. The audio can be downloaded and used for newscasts.
