Reichard Invites Residents to Anti-Scam Event
May 28, 2026
HARRISBURG – To keep residents updated on the growing ways in which scammers target victims, Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin) is teaming up with Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday’s office to host an anti-scam workshop.
The free, informative event will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the MMP&W Volunteer Fire Co. Activities Center, 20 Veterans Way, Mercersburg.
“This presentation will hit on new scams and new technology being used by scammers,” Reichard said. “I encourage residents to attend so they can learn how not to become victims. The greatest tool to combat scammers is knowledge of their methods and being able to identify scams.”
Scammers are using new means and technology, such as AI, to target victims. A representative from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General will discuss new scams and methods scammers are using. This workshop will help attendees recognize scams and understand the tactics scammers use to build trust and urgency, and how they use AI to do so. Attendees will also learn practical ways to protect personal information and finances.
For more information about the event, call Reichard’s office at 717-749-7384.
